The second task.

This summer Sasha went to Czeck Republic, he liked his trip very much and we decided to use the opportunity and write a letter to a teen Sasha met in his trip.
So, our letter

Dear Marek,

Thank you for your letter! We liked your story about summer holidays. We had holidays too and travel a lot this summer. As we found it very interesting to travel we would like to visit your country. We know that you have many sightseeings, ancient castles and that the capital of your country is like our St. Petersbutg. Though the member of our team visited your capital and he consider your country more graceful and stylish.
Having listened to it we decided to visit your fine city, to learn it's culture and get acquainted with teens from your fantastic country.
We hope that we will continue our dialogue, and find much in common.

Could you give us a piece of advice? We don't know when it is better to visit your city. In what season? Could you help us to book a room in the hotel? The only girl of our team likes ancient castles, What castle is it more interesting to visit?

In our turn we can invite you to visit our city. It has enough interesting history too. Kaluga is considered to be the Cradle of Cosmonautic. You’ll be able to visit a house-museum of great Russian scientist Tsiolkovsky. By the way, our grammar school is named after this scientist . We’ll tell you about our school in the next letter.

We don't know yet. Wi'll disscus it tommorow. You know, it's difficult to work as a team sometimes. But Lena thinks, that there will be some photos of our town, may be of our school...and of course some photos made by Sasha in Prague.

And what about your lleter? How will you design it? As we know you can draw nice pictures.

I think it could be something related with summer and the Czech Republic (such as photos, as you said, or photos of Sasha and Marek if you have, or pictures of Prague which are usually done on postcards ...) you can use any unusual fonts for example, "tekton pro" ... and so on. It all depends on your imagination)

In my letter I am going to use the design "old style": background will look like a scroll, and, perhaps, gothic or "handwritten" font ...
As you know I'm drawing not very fast, so I'm hardly going to use my images (it can only be a small and simple). I'm still think about it.

We don't know it, but we are sure your pictures are so nice because you don't work fast. Think about it, of cause the hero of your letter is connected with mythology and your design should be ....mysteorious, may be...but even your favourite anima can be used in it. Try to put your own creative work!

We are not sure that we'll be able to visit our friend this year. There are some problems...
We can't describe his appearence because only me and Lena are here in the forum now. We'll ask Sasha about it tommorow.

As we know -no, the situation was usual:) Their parents got acqainted and give Sasha his e-mail. Everything is rather ordinary. But we'll hope the result we'll be unusuall!!!

Dear L.I.S. I was on general beaches. There is so beautiful. Were you there? If not you should go there it`s realy cool. There is a beach between hills. There was so cool waves. Do you like waves? And have you ever diving? I wanted to try but my father used all air in ballon

Lucky People, you are really lucky!

Of course all of us like waves, and this summer we tried to catch big waves on Asove sea but you must understand that waves on the Asove sea can't be really great! In spite of tis fact we liked to spend time together catching the waves.

People!
We've got an idea! Let's disscus it
We can't visit our friend abroad this (autumn) holidays, but we should like to go somewhere together. Our teacher proposed us to go to Moscow on excursion and to attend euristic lessons of the center Eidos. Sincerely Ilya doesn't like this idea and you can gues why But Lena like it very much. Sasha haven' decided yet what he wants.
But the point is that we are only three...we need companions Who would like to join us? May be Lena is right and it wouldn't so bad to spend 3 or 5 days in Moscow!

As for us we like the following saying: "Nothing is impossible to a willing heart".
This year we are waiting our friends from Archangelsk to visit us. We got aqainted this summer. Last year we we going to visit our friends from Nizhnevartovsk. We got aqainted with them on the previous contest

I propose all the participants of the contest to meet in Moscow. We can book an excurcion for 3 or 5 days with the help of Eidos Tour. More than that, we can attend euristic lessons in the center Eidos (I don't know what is it, but it makes it more interesting) We will stay in a hotell for 3 or 4 nights.

Dear L.I.S. I don`t have photos In that moment our camera was with out energy Yes waves on Asove sea isn`t big but there was a storm so we were very lucky Once we were on Black sea in storm. It was so big waves.... And do you know how funny to look at people who roll on the beach by waves I want to go to Astralia. There is always large waves. I want to try surfing there. Oh I like all extrem things mabee and I want to try it all What do you think about it?

We agree that it will be better to go to Snt Petersburg,Lucky People. But not this holidays. And one question: Who will go with us? We mean-teachers!!!!
Nobody, we are afraid.
The teacher who proposed it advise us to visit "Eidos", because nearly all of us took part in distance contests and even have 1 and 2 places. May be she is right that it is time to take part in internal. not only distance lessons of the centre. As for us, it is more interesting, than to spend holidays at home:)

P.S. Lena wants tro go to Italy on winter holidays....

Hello dear Katie!

If you read this letter, it means that it has reached you.

Our team consists of 4 persons: Alena, Anna, Dima, Sveta . And in spite of the fact that each of us has no free time, nevertheless we have desided to write you this letter. We are interested in English language and culture, it unites us greatly.

We live in Kaluga. This town is considered to be a Cradle of Cosmonautics. Our town is very beautiful: pine forests, the Oka river and the town itself is very picturesque. Many people came to us on excurtions. If you think that this town is rether small and is situated on the country suburb, you are mistaken. Kaluga is situated not so far from Moscow – the capital of Russia. Our city is known all around the world because of Tsiolkovsky, who made a great contribution to exploration of the space. For certain you've heard about it too.

I want to notice that to you have an honor to take part in the competition «Letter to the foreigner». We must apologise to any inconvenience, but we hope that you’ll help us.

If you are still reading the letter, it means that we’ve interested you! It’s this fact pleases us greatly!

It would be impolite not to be presented. So, Alena is very kind and responsive person, she likes hedgehogs and take part in things like this competition. For example she took part in the Olympiad of the centre Eidos on biology. Dima is energetic and funny, he likes dancing. Anna is very sociable and intelligent, she likes journalism. Sveta is talented, but clumsy, because of getting into different ridiculous situations. Certainly it is not all we wanted to tell you, but in order not to overload you with the unnecessary information, we have decided to shorten our story.

Initially we just wanted to fill up you with some question, which didn't seem us to be so interesting, and were simply standard, but... There is an important circumstance because of which, we have changed a content of the letter. In our interests to continue the further dialogue with you, and the competition should serve only as an occasion of acquaintances.

To us, citizens of the Russian Federation (and simply as very curious teenagers)it is very interesting to know: Why did you decide to leave the country and get foreign education? Is it possible for the sake of one of the most prestigious universities to leave your Motherland? We think that it is known to the majority of the population of Russia that distinctions in an educational system of our country and England is evident. In your opinion, is it necessary for Russia to change it on foreign training systems? Why did you move to London and not to another city? Liverpool, for example? It is very cosy town … It has an international recognition thanks to two important sights: the first of them is a legendary Liverpool group ' the Beatles', besides Liverpool is known as a sports city, football and large national jumps are organized there at the highest level.



The stormy life of this city attracts a lot of young people from every corner of the globe because there is all opportunities for the rest there: a lot of cafes, youth clubs, rest for all tastes and bright night life. Though there are a great number of remarkable cities.

What do you like in English culture? It is said that it dies out, is it so?

What is your favorite place in London? (may be we will visit this city, we are sure it is necessary to do, what sights should we see?)

All the members of the team like sunny weather. And what weather is in your place?

We are sure that your winters are not so sivere as in Russia. Is the weather in England differs greatly from Russian?

Do you have some work? On your page in Vkontakte it is written that you works with children. We think it will be interesting to know what children do you work with. Why did you choose this work? Do you like it?

For certain we have taken away from you a lot of time, but we hope that you will answer us and look forward to it!

As for Ann, this photo was taken on aircraft. On that day, Kaluga team and took part in "Constellation Tallantov 2011", visited at the airport and even the guys sat on the board a military aircraft
