I am taking a part in this contest to make a foreign friend from the UK. I think it should be a person elder than me, because I think that communication with this person will be more interesting. We should have common interests such as music, sports activities and tastes in films. I imagine that he is enjoying life as well as I and try to get as more as he can from it. As for me I admire extraordinary persons, who have outlook which differs from other people.

I will write my letter to a young man from America. His name is Alex. He is 21 years old. I liked the fact that he was very sociable, cheerful and positive person. Alex does not have much free time but if he has, he likes to spend it in a good company, consisting of his school friends. I enjoy talking to her a lot because she knows many interesting facts about famous people, history. Also he is fond of reading. Books have become part and parcel of his life.
Alex has a lot of hobbies: he likes to play the computer, to read detective stories, to collect butterflies. But the favorite hobby of Alex - it's pictures. He photographed everything and everywhere is a favorite with the camera. I would say he is very good at this thing! He likes animals, espesially cats. He has got a cat Lastik at home.
Alex is very attentive to his parents. Of course, he has some drawbacks - sometimes she is a hurly-burly boy, a bit stubborn. But still like him as she has a good sense of humour and pleasant to deal with.
I think we have much in common with him. I'd like to meet him in reality. I think he will be so happy to receive my letter.

The Madagascan sunset moth or simply sunset moth, Chrysiridia rhipheus, is a day-flying moth of the Uraniidae family. It is considered to be one of the most impressive and beautiful Lepidoptera. Famous worldwide, it is featured in most coffee table books on the Lepidoptera and is much sought after by collectors. It is very colorful, though the iridescent parts of the wings do not have pigment; rather the colors originate from optical interference. Adult moths have a wingspan of 7–9 centimetres (3–3½ in).
The moth was considered to be a butterfly by Dru Drury, who described it in 1773 and placed it in the genus Papilio. Jacob Hübner placed it in the moth genus Chrysiridia in 1823. Later redescriptions led to junior synonyms such as Chrysiridia madagascariensis (Lesson, 1831). At first the moth was thought to be from China or Bengal, but was later found to be endemic to Madagascar. It is found throughout the year in most parts of the island, with peak populations between March and August, and smallest numbers between October and December. Females lay about 80 eggs under the leaves of Omphalea spp. The caterpillars are whitish-yellow with black spots and red feet and are covered in club-ended black setae. Silk spun from the mouth helps the caterpillars hold onto smooth leaves and climb back to the plant when they fall. After completing four instars, the caterpillars spin an open network cocoon. The pupal stage lasts from 17 to 23 days. Chrysiridia rhipheus is the sole specialist herbivore of the four species of Omphalea in Madagascar. Omphalea is toxic: the toxins are sequestered by the feeding caterpillar and retained in the pupal and adult stages. Thousands of these moths migrate between the eastern and western ranges of their host plants.

He lives in the USA. I have got acquainted with him casually, he familiar for a long time with my friend.
I never him saw in a reality, but I have wanted to communicate to him. I did not expect that dialogue with him will be so interesting.

How do I imagine the person whom I ‘ ll write a letter? A star? A president? A famous person? What do I want to get from the conversation?
And here and there!I'm only a Russian teenager. I would like to meet my age-mates from different countries,!
It does not matter, what he or she will be. The main thing is that we find interesting topics to discuss.
But I would like to find a friend from London, maybe because my relatives live there. And London is the capital of the UK, so I can learn many interesting things about it.
I ‘d like my foreign friend show an interest to Russian history, I would tell a lot about it.
Maybe we'll share knowledge of certain subjects, learn something extra... For example, my favourite subjects are Biology and English. 
Besides, I can play the piano and I love it very much. Maybe, my pen friend is a pianist. I take an active part in competitions, conferences and discussions. I think my pen friend will be an active and interesting person! For the first time I will communicate with a foreigner, it's great!

I can't name the concrete person to whom I would like to address my letter. Every person is unique. Maybe this person lives in a foreign country. He or she can have problems and joys similar with mine. We can find themes to discuss. He or she will tell me about his or her interests. And I shall tell about my preferences. Maybe, we are interested in similar things? We can discuss our successes. Of course, I shall try to find understanding with a person of any age, any nationality and any interests. But I can tell you about an ideal pen friend for me.
I can’t say:”I’m a very sociable person”. And I want to have a pen friend who is more talkative then me. I like to read about someone’s life and I do not like to tell about myself. My passion is drawing. I would like my friend to be interested in drawing too. He or she can give me some advice. Why not? I think that I can share my experience. I want to find friends abroad. I want to communicate with interesting
teenagers and have a pen friend. It doesn't matter where my friends live.
I want to deal with a teenager who is from an English-speaking country,

old. I consider that boys and girls can be interesting interlocutors for
me. I would rather communicate with a girl more than a boy because girls
can value beauty of nature. I like this quality of character of my

I cannot say who I want to write a letter to. It may be every teenager
abroad. And it does not matter if this person is a boy or a girl. It will
be interesting for me to talk with teenagers living in Scotland, Iceland,
Italy (particularly in Venice), China or Australia. Why do I pay attention
to these countries? Because I want to visit them in future, to learn more
about culture of them, about exiting and picturesque places there. Also it
will be cool to get photos of these corners of the world.
But it doesn’t mean there are no pleasant persons to talk in other
English-speaking countries. I think wonderful people live in all countries
and I want to find one of them. Certainly it’s not indifferent to me what
my friend is interested in. It would be nice if my future friend loves
creation, arts, literature, and nature… Besides, I think it’s not so bad
if our interests will be similar a little. I’ll tell my pen friend about
myself. So, it will be amazing to talk with a living foreigner, to create

My name is Irina Merkushenkova. I`m 14 years old. I`m form 9th B. I live in a beautiful town of Kaluga. It is not very far from Moscow and we have a lot of opportunities. At least it is a town of famous scientists and composers.
I think that I can compare myself with the fox cub because in some ways I am strong, brave, clever, smart, cunning ,on the other hand I'm helpless, curious, weak and naive. My favourite music can tell you about me. I don`t like hard music , the meaning of the song is very important to me as well. I like slow music, dance music and old music. But usually I listen to modern songs.
