My name is Zhenya Smetanina. I am a pupil of the 7th form. I study in Gimnazium №3.
I live in a small town Inta.
It is situated in the north of Komi republic. Though it’s small, it’s nice and beautiful ,especially in winter and summer.
I have decided to take part in this contest because it’s connected with such interesting and magic holiday as Christmas.
I personally think that if I study English I should know about traditional holidays in Great Britain.

For me it interesting to know more about Christmas. Because Christmas is very extrodinary and beautifull holiday. I think that every holiday is my favorite celebration. I study in the 7 form. I’ve been taking part in the contests of this organization for five or six times. And of course the first task is a “Visiting Card”. I’m ready to tell you about myself for another participants.
I’m Lada Matyunina. I’m a sixteen-year-old girl. My native city is Yekaterinburg. I’m fond of learning English. I’ve learning it for 10 years. It is the second language of my life.
Christmas is one of the favourite holidays in my life. I’m sure, this holiday likes people all over the world because it’s a holiday you meet new year, eat traditional food and get a lot of presents.
I like using Russian and English traditions of Christmas. And it is very interesting to mix culture and traditions of two countries.
Why did I decide to participate in competition?
Firstly, it is really good practice to talk with another pupils. Secondly, I’ll get acquainted with boys and girls from different cities. Thirdly, I want to achieve a big success.

Hey!!!
I`m Izmestieva Anna and I`m from Togliatti.
I like english too like Alex...and I learn it about 9 years..yes, 9 years (including kindergarten). In the future I want to link my work with this language. I was in Canada and practiced this language. It was really terrific!!!
So, why I agreed to participate in this project? Cause I think that it really interesting! And I hope that it will be good practise in english... So, I wanna talk in english more and more good! Maybe it sounds trivial, but I dream to living abroad, such as Canada or England. I will do everything possible to know English better than Russian, but it is only a dream...So, my friends I would ask u about your dream, and what do u want to do in future. What about another languages, do u know other languages or u only learn english? Oh yeah, I forgot that in my school I learn latin and french too, but I can`t speak french like in english. I like New Year and Christmas! On my mind it`s the best celebrations in the year!!! And I like to organize this celebration for my friends and my family!!! Hello! My family not too big, but we have a some interesting traditions! Before this date we go shopping and everybody from my family buy gifts to everyone from it. So, when the celebration begins, me with my little brother get up at the morning and we goes to look what`s new under the christmas tree and of course there a lot of presents! After that we have a holiday breakfast! I do not want to tell all of my holiday schedule of the day, I'll talk only about our traditions, as they say, will not shy away from the topic. At first we have a very funny and very good mood! At secondly during the celebration, we sat at the festive table with guests, everyone is talking about old year and about plans at the new year. We tell holiday stories. I spend contests. And after the battle bells we always have disco! We turn on the music and everybody is dancing. Due to the fact that we celebrate this wonderful celebration at the village (cottage), we go out and turn salute! On my mind it`s so fantastic event!!! After all New Year and Christmas is my favorite holidays!

2) It is good question! Cause it is the famous holiday in the year in my opinion... And it good time for the family celebration. I think that when all family near the Tv and near my favourite christmas tree with a table where a lot of food - it is a dream!! And it dream happens with me every year!!!!

Hi everybody there) My name is Semenova Dasha I live in Togliatty and I'm pupil of 9 grade EC school
So..I have already learnt english 10 years from the time of the childhood. I find this language really attractive and interesting and it's really plesant for me to learn english also because I travel a lot and I think that it's one of the most wonderful feelings, when you can communicate with foregin people and when you can understand them. In fact I always take part in different english competition and I suppose that one of the reason of it, that I want to connect my life with this language, because I want to be a linguist or a philologist. So I have a decision to take part there, because I have never seen so interesting form of the english competition before this one. I hope that this measure will help me to develope my language skills, to know more about Christmas and certanly to make new friends all over the country. Honestly speaking I don't know a lot about this holiday, because in Russia New Year is more famous. So, that's why I want to ask you a little about Christmas) What traditions do you have in your family on the Christmas? How do you celebrate it and with whom? Is this holiday your favorite? So, Christmas is coming and do you, guys, have any ideas about gifts for your relatives and friends?
As for me, Christmas is one of my fave holidays, 'cause i enjoy this terrific atmosphere, full of gifts and surprises! And may be it sounds ridiculous, but I believe in Santa!and i'm fond of cooking!
i adore english and really glad, that now i can improve it in this competition. i'm good in english and enjoy socializing with people from another countries! i do love travelling, i've visited a lot of countries, but 2(only) weeks in CAnada were unforgettable!

Stragely, but Christmas associate with child, who belive in miracle. This belife is very credulous. Children wait wait and wait, but they see only their parents, whom dance, sing, drink, play jokes , laugh and forget their children. Sometimes adults belive in miracle too. But their miracle is only financial position. For me look of dreamy eyes is a simbol of Christmas. I think, for hope to something you must do anything. Christmas is a good lesson to dreamers and slackers. And for workers it is only beautiful holyday and day off.

[b]Dasha, we are from one gimnazium with Kuzanna and as we know she has a phylosophic mind, and she had been always wiser than another pupils. She likes to think and to think...how to put it in English...deeper than others. She even speak unordinary and you know it is difficult for such persons to communicate with their classmates and even teachers, but who wants to have a real friend and extremely bright and smart speaker and opponent-write to Kuzanna!

P.S. to the point-she has a wonderfull family and very understanding grandmother, that is why it depends only on her how she marks the celebration.

Yeh, Dasha it will be more pleasant to reach your aim, if you've done everything and even more for it. Only hard work gives you a desirebale result and moral satisfaction. But sometimes it is so pleasant to think that you are an usuall teenager and that you can allow yourself to be lazy (from time to time)... As in our fairy-tales and not only in them Russian mothers told to their daughters:'Sleep, my baby so long as you want, while you are living with your mother. You won't be able to sleep in husband's house." Isn't it a real mother's love and wisdom of Russian women?

But why do I speak about it? hmm...interesting topic especcially before Christmas...Are you going to guess on Chrisnmas Eve?

Hello GNN.
My favoutite contest of this center is "A letter for foreigners". I think it is very intersting to chat with international students. I have a lot of practice with them in Ireland. I practice my language with French,Spanish,Italian anf of course wuth Irish people. I won only in one contest,when there were only two participants.
I think it is very good to mix two cultures. But i've neve done it. And in this Christmas I want to do it.
And now,please answer my questions.

Christmas Day it is very pleasant holiday for me. I celebrate this holiday with my dear family. We are often gathering togever behind fire-place and exchanging presents. But presents we create ourselves, gifts receives very funny and various) For my family and me it is traditional because Issues was born in this day and many countries celebrate this holiday.
And now I wont to show you some information about Christmas Day, when hi is and how it is celebrate.
Christmas Day is celebrated as a major festival and public holiday in most countries of the world, even in many which are not majority Christian. In some non-Christian countries periods of former colonial rule introduced the celebration, in others, Christian minorities or foreign cultural influences have led populations to take it up. Major exceptions, where Christmas is not a formal public holiday, include China, (excepting Hong Kong and Macao), Japan, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Thailand, Nepal, Iran, Turkey and North Korea.
While most countries celebrate Christmas on December 25 each year, some national churches including those of Russia, Georgia, Egypt, Armenia, the Ukraine and Serbia celebrate on January 7. This is because of their use of the traditional Julian Calendar, under which December 25 falls on January 7 as measured by the standard Gregorian Calendar.
Around the world, Christmas celebrations can vary markedly in form, reflecting differing cultural and national traditions. Countries like Japan and Korea where Christmas is popular despite there being only a small number of Christians, adopt many of the secular trappings of Christmas such as gift-giving, decorations and Christmas trees.

Yes every year i go abroad, but i dont visit England or Ireland.
Sometimes i chat with people from another country, but i usually practise English reading books or traveling. also i watch film in English.
Of course i want to spend my holidays in Britain. I think it is very interesting useful and so exciting!! i want to make friends with children from other countries))

I really love Ireland. It is beautiful country. I can't describe you my feeling. It is very difficult.
You should visit this country and you'll understand me.

A Christmas tree stands in everybody's living room at Christmas, shining its good cheer around the room. Sitting on the very top of the tree is a silver star surrounded by tiny lights. I try to see your presentation on that project, i think it is very interesting))So, i agree with U that it is comfortable to do tasks at home)as for Christmas, i think that there are a lot of traditions and each family has their own tradition) some people like go frome house to hose , they sing Christmas carols and collect money for charity. But i think it practis for the most part in GB))

Сhristmas is a holiday of childhood and magic. Everyone who celebrate Christmas think that it very wonderfull and fantastic holiday. In my family we celebrate Christmas every year. And we have some traditions. The first tradition is to give presents which connected with Christmas. The second tradition is to do an extraordinary and tasty food. The third tradition of my familly is to make concert and held games. It very fanny because we do it to our friends. I think that my favorite holidys are New Yer and Christmas, because we cebrate this holiday with my family!

This christmas I will celеbrate with my family and my friends) It will be very fascinating and unforgetable I think. We always celеbrate this holiday in my school with teachers and freinds, also we decorated our class, it is realy funny!
