The hero of our letter
Robert Hoffman is the main character of our letter. He is a proficient dancer and actor, and we are writing to him because we are fond of dancing too. We also like films, where Robert Hoffmann takes part in. His roles are always interesting and exciting. We know that he is not only a movie star, but he also takes part in music clips, and he is a very great choreographer. We are dreaming to make friends with him, though he is elder, than we are (he is already 29). He was born in 1980 in the USA. And of course Robert became famous not only in the States, but also in other countries. So, in conclusion, we want to say, that we would like to meеt him, talk and to take dance lessons from him.

The hero of my letter is Chuck Norris. He is a famous fantastic fighter and a good actor. Chuck has a big number of interests, but his favourite interest is protecting our world from evilness. I pick out his character, because we both are kind people and we both want to be Kings of the World. Actually I want to chat with him, make new famous and rich friend and practise my English. So I would like to meet him and have a friendly fight (maybe I can stay alive).

Thank you for write me a letter. I was very pleased. Now I want to know more about you. I like people who are interested in something. Your wish to draw every moment made me smile, especially the phrase that you can do it when you sleep. I must say it was difficult to read your letter for me and I used vocabulary. I could not understand the phrase “ make hair stand on end” and asked the teacher to explain it. I liked your letter very much, it was fun to read it. And I’m really surprised you can do so many things and study 3 languages!!! I think it’s very difficult. As for me I learn only English and it takes a lot of time. Do you learn only at school or have extra lessons? Is school ordinary or special?

Dear Nastya,
I’m glad my letter was interesting for you. As for doves we have about 60 birds, almost all of them are of our regional kind: red and white. We have never exhibited ours but we enjoy visit exhibitions, they usually take place during holidays and many people come. I don’t know about prizes but you gave me a good idea and we’ll think with my father about taking part in the nearest contest. You ask me what books by Tolkien I have read. It is “Vlastelin kolets” (unfortunately I read it in Russian and don’t know how to translate it into English). I’m verry sorry I can’t send pictures of me and doves, I send them but they don’t appear on our forum. I’ll publish them in our school site and you can see them there ( our school site is blagschool92005.narod.ru ).

Dear Ashley Fuller and Mary Kate Olsen,
We are very glad to write you. We are fine girls of 17 years old. We have been always following you since we had seen your first film “To Grandmother's House We Go”.
We have always admired and admire your creativity. As far as we know you were involved in to about 60 films. Since we have been familiar with your creativity, and learn more about you and your personal lives.
Firstly, we have been learning English, because we think it will help us in our future profession, as we want to connect our future lives with foreign languages. It seems to us knowledge of the language opens the door to any foreign country and gives a possibility to communicate, to understand people and to be understood.

Early we attended a theatre studio; we played some roles of your characters. And our dream is to learn English fluently, then become good actresses. And of course we want to make a career in Russian cinematography, then conquer Hollywood and make a competition to you. We hope you will answer to us and we will wait for your letter.

Dear Alina and Azat,
What a pleasure to receive your letter on my first day back at my school, Tallwood High School! The trip back to America was long and difficult, with many hours spent in an airplane – 16 to be exact. Throughout all of those hours, the memory of my time with you warmed my heart. The young people of Tatarstan are clearly ready to move into the 21st Century with open hearts and minds. We are ready to learn more about you!
I have been greeted by my students and teachers all morning, and they are so excited to learn about my travels and experiences with you. I have told them that the students I met in Russia were thrilled to see me and make connections with American students. I think you can see from my presentations that the future is in your hands. I believe that the days of closed minds and closed borders is over. My visit is just the first step in building our bridge of friendship.
The Cultural Heroes project is an important one because it is a powerful way to illustrate what values are important to your people. Through the stories of your poets, writers, artists, folk heroes, and military leaders, Americans are able to see what is important in your culture and your daily lives. What you will discover is that good people throughout the world are the same. We love our families, are patriots for our country, and wish to learn more about the world. Here are some questions to help you focus the project:
How are the Cultural Heroes a representation of your country and its beliefs?
How can you honor your Cultural Heroes through your own actions?
If you could meet one of your Cultural Heroes, what 5 questions would you ask, AND how do you think they would answer you?
These questions will help you to get a good start on your projects. Remember, that the teenagers here are just like you. They love music, pictures and enjoy working in groups. Hopefully you will continue your groups work on this project and practice collaborative teamwork. In America we work together to make our lives better. It is the secret to our success.

First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Katya, my family name is Yni. I am sixteen years old. I am at 10-th grade. I am doing guite well at school. My parents are proud of my marks. I was born in Temruk and it is my native town, street is Mira number thirty four.
I can compare me with a determined person, because speaking about my character, I can say that I am airways get one’s way. But in sprite of this character, I can keep secrets, I am friendly and honest. But I do not like falsehood, and for me it is a very difficult to cope with people who have such features of character as egoism.
I enjoy strolling along streets because it is interesting for me. I am also keep on music and I have lots of collections of CD and DVD disks. My favorite subjects are English and physics. As for me to see a good film or read fantasy is a very pleasant way of spending free time.
I have been studying English for eleven year. I want to study English and French. Knowledge of foreign language opens a new world for me. During all school years English was my favorite subject, that is why I like take part in this competition.
I want to enjoy the work greatly. I hope I’ve chosen the right choice. Isn’t that enough to be satisfied with your work?
