На электронную почту школы пришла рассылка о конкурсе переводчиков. Мои учащиеся зарегистрировались( 25). С первым заданием понятно- визитная карточка и форум. А что такое самопрезентация? В одном из текстовых жанров? Объясните,пожалуйста. Мы впервые работаем с Эйдос.

*Qualities of a good translator and a good student*

Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders.So, who is a good student? What are the qualities of a good student? Historically, the term ‘student’ refers to anyone who learns something. However, the recent definition of a “student” is mostly used to refer to anyone who attends school, college, or university.

Again, what are the good qualities of a student? The list below shows the qualities of a good student.

1. Attitude: Basically, a good student has the ability and wish to
learn new subjects even if the subjects are not interesting.
2. Academic skills: having academic skills is the most important
quality of a good student.
3. Ability: A good student has the ability to get the results of his or
her learning creative and achieve the goals.
4. Self-Discipline is very important
5. Understanding rather than memorizing things.

Hello frends!
We are glad to meet you!We go to school 1980.We live in Moscow.Our group №2 is from 7A. There are 5 of us in it: Zudina Darya, Metchnick Polina, Nemtinova Alice, Sulimov Ivan and Zuev Arteym.
We love English because it is a very interesting and extremely beautiful language. Translation of texts is a very exciting and creative task. For the first time we are participate in this contest and all want to reveal our talents . I think all like to win, we are not an exception. We love English and English literature. English is lovely, actually. We can learn it more and more. When we read books in English we often try to translate some parts of them. It’s so funny and exciting!
When we heard about this project, we immediately decided to participate in it. We think it's incredibly exciting, rewarding and challenging. We also think the experience of participating in this project will be useful to us. And of course we hope to win.

* All our group is keen on English, we really enjoy it.
For the first time we are eager to take part in the “DUEL OF TRANSLATERS”. What for?
Firstly, to show - we are the best. Among us there are the winners of the city speaking contest in foreign languages and the winners of the all-Russian Olympiads in English.
Why have we chosen this particular contest? It seems original and unusual. We appreciate being artists in everything. The translator's role , by no means, has also been compared to that of an artist or a poet. Why not? "Translation is a type of drawing after life..."(Dryden) We want to prove everybody that we have everything we need at the tips of our fingers and in our mind. Word by word searching a foreign language text using our knowledge we’ll try to create a real masterpiece.
We are obviously creative. We grew up wanting to solve problems. We were inspired to paint and draw, or write and play music. We get a thrill from being creative, and from people recognizing that creativity. A creative mind is a great mind. But like a chisel or a sword, it needs to be kept sharp to do the best job.
What you need to do is sharpen your mind, with exercises to jog your mind better than any energy drink. Do translations as we do!
Is there a logo out there that you hate? A radio ad that makes you turn red with rage? Then do it better. We can make the best translation and teach you how to do it nicely.
We want to show you how to make dull work exciting.
What can we translate? Anything.
What is our inspiration? Whatever we want.
Can we meet any problems ? how to solve them? Think big, think small, think around the problem.
We are not afraid to be a bit childish!
We want to create something fun and cool.
We are ready

We are go to school 1980 from Moscow.We are in 5 form. Russian is
our native language. As for our English. We've got some problems,
especially with speaking. But we understand it much better than

The team consists of 5 members who represent 4 different nationalities.
All the members of the group possess different qualities. These features
of character helped to create a solid and stable team functioning without
any mistakes .The peculiarities of this group are considered to be their
intelligence and a good knowledge of the English language. The main
branches of their scientific investigation can be found in the spheres
of mental activities. 95% of the participants have reached excellent
results in their work. The weight of the team as a whole 257 pounds.
The overall growth is 829 cm.
We are different: one girl has red hair and grey eyes; two girls in the team have dark hair and brown eyes and one girl in the group has fair hair and brownish-green eyes and one girl has brown hair and brown-greenish eyes. The facts that unite the members often group are common interests.

Dear Friends,
Thanks a lot for your invitation to this competition. Sorry we are late with the first task. We are not good at IT and could not make a visit card in time without our teacher`s help. We are happy to take part in this tournament.

At first we would like to tell some thinks about us. We are the students of the sixth form. All of us like English very much. Our teacher is very kind and clever. She tells us many interesting about England, English people, their traditions and customs. Also we go to extra English and that`s why we get only good marks at school.
The first member of our group is Philipp. He likes History and reads many books and English books too. He travels with his mother all around the world.
Brothers Vasiliy, Ivan and Grigoriy are very hardworking. They are interested in languages, history, geography and music. They are learning how to play the guitar. They study Spanish in their free time.
The only girl in our team is Olesya. She likes taking part in different competitions. She is the seventh in the Olympiad in English “Intellect Express”. Olesya goes to Spanish courses too.
That`s all what we can say about our group.

Scientists have discovered a new kind of team of translator`s competition. This team consists of five individuals (4 - F, 1 - M)*. Each individual was given a special scientific name that reflects the functions it performs.
Here is a brief description of each member of this team:

The specimen number 1: Nastya (Anastasius Rationalius) - has a high sense of responsibility and high labor potential. She also possesses the skill of communicating in German language.
The specimen number 2-Nastya # 2 (Anastasius Biblios) - Her distinctive features are resourcefulness and a strong love of reading. She likes reading books in the original, so she devotes all her free time to studying foreign languages.
The specimen number 3 - Max (Maksimus Creativius) - the only male individual in the team. He has great creative abilities which are expressed by writing poetry and playing guitar.
The specimen number 4-Marina (Marinius Strongus) - She is professionally engaged in gymnastics so she is capable of great endurance. She travels a lot and she has many friends from all over the world.
The specimen number 5 - Anna (Annum Nevermorum**) - enjoys listening to music of many foreign singers. She has experience of translating English texts (mostly English songs) and prefers reading science-fiction novels. Her favorite writer is Edgar Allan Poe.

In general, this type of team is characterized by special interest in the English language and the culture of United Kingdom. Also they can be recognized by their motto «Never give up! »

The text was not bad, and we really liked the fourth task. Of course, we have carried out the work which was rather interesting, we tried very hard. Unfamiliar words that we have looked in the dictionary, we discussed by the whole team. Of course, we had to work hard to find beautiful phrases and expressions. We think it was not very hard. У меня странное чувство по отношению к этому конкурсу. Мне кажется, с одной стороны, он расширил мои языковые способности. Я думаю, что я буду участвовать в таких конкурсах и дальше. Особенно мне понравилось четвертое задание, где был перевод о Гагарине. Оно было очень интересное и познавательное.
С другой стороны, мне не очень понравились форумные чаты, я их не люблю. Я решила принять участие в Поединке переводчиков по английскому языку для
того, что бы проверить свои знания, приобрести уверенность в своих силах
и узнать, на что я способна и надеюсь, что мне это удалось.

So, we arrived at the “Baikanur” on a bright spring morning of April 12, 1961. The sun has just appeared over the vague horizon but its rays were already warm and courteous. People’s faces were full of excitement.
The bus took us to the ground step of the spaceship. In a couple of moments Gagarin would be in his place ready to start. He spoke warmly to the members of the state Commission, scientists and friends-cosmonauts. We were both in the spacesuits trying to embrace. We didn’t want to break the tradition and “knocked’’ our helmets.
“Dear friends, close ones and strangers,”-said Gagarin to everybody,-“In a few minutes a powerful spaceship will carry me to the unknown Universe. What can I tell you before my first flight? All my life is like a wonderful moment for me now. Everything we’ve experienced,”- he went on,-“everything done before was only for this day. Everybody sees now how hard it is to express all the feelings I have. We have been seeking for this moment for a long time and now it is so close.”
His voice sounded happy and anxious.
It was not my turn it fly (I was a spare cosmonaut-a double, as they called me later) but I felt that the words of my friends who had the honour to fly the first were coming deep from my heart. You know, I was thinking of the responsibility for the Soviet people, mankind, its present and future.

Благодаря конкурсу я научилась переводить тексты, и, надеюсь, что мои результаты будут хорошими. Также я научилась презентовать себя. Самым интересным для меня стало задание 4, так как там надо было непосредственно переводить текст. Когда я выподняла задания, я чувствовала энтузиазм, интерес и стремление к победе. Но все-таки были и трудности. Например, мы работали в команде, и поэтому было трудно сдавать работу вовремя. Но вобщем, конкурс мне понравился. Правда, в дальнейшем я бы предложила давать больше времени на выполнение заданий.

Уважаемые организаторы конкурса!
Впервые 25 учащихся школы 1980 приняли участие в конкурсе центра "Эйдос". Мои ущущения и чувства, связанные с конкурсом, весьма противоречивы. Сначала о том, что понравилось: четвертое задание на перевод - безусловно. Текст интересный, достаточно простой для перевода и связанный с Днем Космонавтики. Дети были очень довольны. Первое и пятое задания - тоже вполне целесообразны, хотя на первое задание можно было дать дня 2-3, чтобы дети освоили форум, почту и не испытывали стресс от того, что могут не успеть выполнить задание вовремя.
Теперь о минусах. Во-первых нельзя загружать детей работой за компьютером в выходные дни, у них просто может не быть такой возможности. Родители часто уезжают с детьми в гости, на дачу и ЭТО НОРМАЛЬНО. Поэтому лучше такой конкурс начинать в понедельник, а не в четверг.
Во-вторых, задания , связанные с преобразованием текста в другой стиль или жанр - отличное по своей задумке, но зачем надо было брать свои же тексты с многочисленными ошибками и добавлять к ним новые, закрепляя неправильное правописание и грамматические ошибки. Логичнее было бы прислать свои тексты с учетом возраста детей.
Мне кажется, что основными недочетами конкурса можно считать его техническую загруженность бесконечными рассылками на два почтовых ящика и проблемами с размещением на форуме. Вообще компьтера в конкурсе было гораздо больше, чем творчества. Как локальный организатор я БЕЗУМНО устала, так как организация процесса рассылки потребовала ВСЕГО моего и так очень незначительного свободного времени.
В целом, я бы хотела участвовать в подобных мероприятиях, но только со старшими классами.

Меня зовут Мечник Полина 5а и я участвовала в Поединке Переводчиков. Мне было довольно сложно и родители вечером занимали компьютер и не давали мне долго там находиться, поэтому я здорово нервничала. А в субботу меня и брата увезли на дачу. Зарегистрироваться на форуме не удалось даже папе.
Мне понравилось задание 4-очень хотелось попробовать свои силы, но команда выбрала не мой перевод и мне было обидно. Хотелось бы переводы чтобы вы прнимали не от команды, а от всех. И времени надо побольше.
А еще мне бы хотелось перевести с английского на русский - это тоже интересно. Но мне нравится переводить, я многому научилась: пользоваться разными словарями, подбирать слова и выражения. Спасибо за конкурс- очень хочу еще участвовать.

Good evening!
We (a group of students of the 6-th form) send the task №4.
It was not easy for us but interesting. We tried to find a correct word to express the idea of the text. If we didn` t know the word all of us looked up it in the dictionary and we decided what word was better to use. Some sentences were very long and so it was difficult to translate them.
We liked the text . It`s very exciting. We understand that our knowledge is not enough to describe an emotional state of the author but we tried of course. We hope next year we`ll translate such texts better.
Gagarin Orbit
So, we are in a space centre. It`s clear morning of the 12-th of April. The sun has hardly appeared behind the far horizon but its rays are already warm and tender. And the people`s faces are lighted by excitement.
A bus took us to the bottom of the rocket. In a few minutes Gagarin will appear in a ship`s cabin. He says «Goodbye» to the members of the State commission, scientists, friends, cosmonauts. We both were in space suits but we could embraced and as Russian people say «clinked» space helmets.

Добрый день, уважаемые организаторы Конкурса"Поединок переводчиков"!
Учащиеся нашей школы (не гимназии!) впервые решили попробовать свои силы в довольно интересном,но нелёгком поединке. Принимали участие группы детей 6-х и 8-х классов.ВЫ заинтересовали детей,заворожили необычными заданиями.Всё это время учащиеся жили этим состязанием.
Несмотря на то, что дети были из разных классов, этот поединок сдружил их, объединил. Они вместе работали со словарём,пытаясь найти нужное слово, выражение. Чтобы отправить свою работу,они знакомились с новыми,неизвестными им, программами.
Больше всего учащимся понравилось задание" Трансформация". С огромным интересом они выбирали жанр и придумывали текст.
Для нас,координаторов, сложность была в том,чтобы собрать учащихся из разных классов.Ведь у них разное расписание, и многие уже ходят на разные курсы. В следующий раз мы будем привлекать детей из одного класса-это,думаем,будет проще и для нас и для них.
Наши пожелания на будущее:хорошо бы упростить момент общения и отправки заданий.
А в основном- побольше бы таких неординарных мероприятий! И,конечно, хотелось бы ,чтобы все участники данного конкурса были отмечены. Спасибо!

Для меня всё было очень интересно и увлекательно! Я попробовала соединить наш могучий русский и интереснейший английский языки, и это было трудно. Перевод – это не только профессия, но и увлекательное практическое занятие для жизни, которое помогает нам общаться с иностранцами, читать книги на разных языках, слушать музыку на иностранном языке. Благодаря заданиям конкурсу, я и мои друзья составили интересную визитную карточку, общались на английском и я сама перевала интересный текст про Юрия Гагарина. Жаль, что на задания отводилось очень мало времени, так как я работала в команде. Надеюсь, наша команда займет достойные места в этом конкурсе!

Мне понравился этот конкурс.Я и дальше буду участвовать в подобных конкурсах..Особенно мне понравилось четвертое задание.Оно очень интересное и познавательное.Я думаю после этого конкурса мои знания и кругозор расширилисьНо я думаю,что администраторам стоит четче давать инструкции.И больше времени давать на задания.

Ну вот и подошёл к концу конкурс переводчиков. Мы очень рады, что приняли участие в нём. Благодаря ему, мы узнали много нового и познавательного. Все пять заданий были очень интересными. Но больше всего нам понравились второе и четвёртое. Было очень увлекательно переделывать нашу визитную карточку в другой стиль, такого рода задание мы не встречали ни в одном конкурсе. Нам понравилось второе задание во-первых , потому что мы узнали много новых стилей написания текстов , во-вторых , потому что мы попробовали поработать с каждым из них и выбрали наиболее понятный , в -третьих , мы проверили свои знания английского языка , и , наконец , нам было приятно поработать и попрактиковаться. Тема текста четвёртого задания показалась нам очень необычной. Никогда не доводилось переводить текст на тему "Полёт в космос". Мы очень рады, что порадовали свои переводческими способности. Над остальными заданиями нам пришлось долго работать, чтобы добиться хорошего результата. Конечно ,мы трудились всей группой и поэтому выполнять задания было легче .Мы сделали всё возможное, и надеемся, что у нас будут не плохие результаты !

> Мне понравилась эта олимпиада, мне кажется, что она расширила мои языковые способности. Я думаю, что я буду участвовать в ней и дальше. Особенно мне понравилось 4 задание так как в нем мы должны были переводить текст а для этого можно и нужно было пользоваться словарем , это помогает узнавать много новых слов. Я бы хотела как можно больше и чаще участвовать в олимпиадах на перевод текстов, так как это помогают понимать, какой это стиль текста, помогают начать понимать тексты. Стоит сказать, что это очень хорошо для общения , для запоминания слов и, мне кажется,что в олимпиадах стоит участвовать.

The bus delivered us to the bottom of the rocket. In a few minutes Gagarin will take his place in a spaceship. He warmly says goodbye to Members of State Commission, scientists, friends, cosmonauts. Both of us were in space suits, but we embraced too and, as it is accepted to speak, "clinked glasses" with our pressurized helmets.
«Dear friends, close ones and strangers! » - Yuri Gagarin addressed to people, who were seeing him off. – «In a few minutes this mighty spaceship will carry me away to far expanse of the Universe. What can I tell you when it`s only a few minutes before blast-off? Now, all my life seems to me like one exciting moment... You know, it's rather hard to realize what I feel now when the hour of trial, to which we had been preparing passionately for a long time, is so close...»
There were solemnity and excitement in the voice of Yuri...
It wasn`t me, who flew (I was in reserve - a backup pilot, as it was called then), but it seemed to me that the words of my friend, who had honor to fly first, were coming from the bottom of my heart. I thought about the responsibility to the Soviet people, to humanity, to its present and future.

So, in our translation we tried to use English words, which have the similar Russian meaning. To form sentences, we held to English sentences construction (object+verb) and compared tenses. . It was hard, because in some cases Russian words have several meanings, and construction of Russian sentences is different from English. But as all our group was really working it was rather easy.

Этот конкурс был очень интересным и не обычным для меня. Самое необычное состояло в первых трех заданиях. Я на совсем понимал что делать, но все же наша команда справилась, и я считаю, что это пошло мне на пользу. Так же очень сильно повысило мои переводческие навыки 4-е задание. Я узнал много новых слов и выражений. !

Больший интерес у меня вызвали несколько заданий. Во-первых, изменение стиля визитки 7а класса, предложенного в третьем задании, дало возможность стать писателем-фантастом на некоторое время. Во-вторых, четвёртое задание позволило нам проявить свои языковые способности.
Организация конкурса мне очень понравилась. По-моему мнению, у нас не было трудностей с выполнением заданий, потому как наша команда была дружна и готова к любым испытаниям.
Я поняла, что главное не победа, а участие!!! Подобные соревнования развивают языковой потенциал, который понадобится мне в будущем.

Конкурс переводчиков подошёл к концу.Мы выполнили все пять заданий и остались довольны нашей работой.Мы усердно трудились и надеюсь,что это было не зря.Лично мне понравились все пять заданий,они показались мне очень интересными и увлекательными,особенно второе и пятое.Меня очень заинтересовало изменение визитной карточки в другой стиль,подбор различных фраз и выражений по выбранной теме.Когда я увидела названия текста пятого задания,я сразу поняла,что перевод займёт немало времени.Так и получилось,но это занятие меня очень увлекло.Я люблю искать в словаре новые слова,поскорее хочется узнать,что же оно означает.Я считаю,что тема"Полёт в космос" выбрана очень удачно,это что-то новое для нас.Я очень рада,что попробовала себя в роли переводчика и выучила много новых слов.Над остальными заданиями пришлось работать больше.Но все участники нашей звёздочки были очень активны и поэтому мы легко со всем справлялись.Я думаю,что мы обязательно победим!

Благодаря конкурсу поединое переводчиков я узнала много новых словы,научилась переводить из одного жанра в другой, благодаря этому получила большой опыт в этой сфере.Спосибо огромное организаторам этого конкурса.

Здравствуйте,дорогие участники!Так как конкурс уже закончился,можно поделится своими впечатлениями о нём.
Вот что я хотела бы написать...Сам по себе конкурс не плохой,достаточно интересный.Мне очень понравилось второе задание.Мне пришлось вспомнить написание разных стилей и правильное составление их.Также мнне понравилось четвёртое задание,было очень занимательно переводить текст на такую тему. Но в четвёртом задании мне не понравилось,то что текст у всех был одинаковый.Кому то он довался тяжелее,кому то легче. А так всё хорошо!
Я очень рада,что поучаствовала в этом конкурсе и с удовольствием поучаствую ещё раз!Все спасибо!!!

Задание 5.

Я-Ксения Костина, ученица 11 класса школы 1980.
Решила принять участие в конкурсе, чтобы попрактиковать свой английский и , возможно, узнать что-то новое. На самом деле я надеялась, что будет перевод с английского на русский, но и наоборот было интересно. Сам текст для перевода мне понравился. Переводить мне всегда нравилось и особых трудностей у меня не возникло. Минус этого конкурса,как мне кажется, в излишнем количестве этапов и ограниченности во времени. Лучше было бы больше именно перевода, и меньше отдельных заданий.
