Hello everybody! I want to tell you about myself.
My name is Alina Rosina. I’m from Almetyevsk. I’m sixteen. I study in one of the best schools in our city- Gymnasia №1 form 10A.
I can compare myself with Natasha Rostova of Tolstoy’s novel “War and Peace”. Because I strive for high ideas trying to perfect myself.
I really like shopping. I think it’s a relaxing enjoyable pastime. So much so, I can spend hours in the city centre with my friends.
I love teddy bears because they are so cute and beautiful.
My hobby is dancing. I can’t imagine my life without them.
My life motto is “Never put of till tomorrow what you can today”. And I always try to stick to it. I don’t like it when something goes not according to my plans.
I’ve heard about the contest for the best letter to a foreigner from our teacher. I am very interested in this competition because in the future I want to enter the Faculty of International Relations and the extra experience in dealing with a foreigner doesn’t hurt.
I think that this contest will help me to practice communicating in English.

I`m Masha Karnaukhova. I’m 14 and my real home is my crazy 8th form. It’s situated in our school in Sayanogorsk, Russia.
I can compare myself with a new closed box. Here there are many unexpected things, something that you don’t suspect at all, something that can make somebody burst into tears, make hair stand on end or laugh out loud.
And as for things that can tell everything about me, they are my school copybooks and my desk at home. Firstly all last pages of my copybooks are full of different pictures and poems. I always draw. I do it when I read, listen to a teacher, learn. I consider I can do it when I sleep. Besides making up fairy-tales and poems is my cup of tea. Secondly my mind is always in disorder, like my desk, so I sometimes confuse the foreign languages I learn. For example, I speak English and French at the lesson of German.
My taking part in this competition is a fab opportunity to make friends from different places of the world, particularly from those ones which are very unusual for Russian people, such as Australia, Japan, South Asia, as well as know their ancient or mysterious culture and the way of life.
What do I expect from this competition? Everything. Everything except bore and disappointment, something gorgeous and amazing.

So, my name is Azat Gabidullin. I am 16 years old. I was born in Almetyevsk, Tatarstan where I am still living. I`m studying in the national Tatar Gymnasia - Gymnasia #1 in the 10 A grade.

I’ve heard about the contest "A letter to a foreigner». And I decided to sing up and try my English level. Course, people must know their capabilities. All of us should always be what it seeks. We haven`t got limits to the perfection. This contest helps me to learn English better, helps to develop competent language skills and just to broaden horizons.

First, I want to tell you my story. I have been visited Ireland for two years. There are a lot of international students (Italian, Spanish, French and of course Russian). One of the French student and me lived in the same house (We lived in a host family, who takes two international students from different countries in their house to practice English).
As far as you understood, I want to write the letter to French boy. His name is Matthieu Riou. His is 16 years old like me. He lives in the capital of France, in Paris. He is fond of different styles in music but his favourite styles are electro, disco and sometimes rock. Also, he is keen on sport. He likes playing football and basketball. Sometimes, he likes to arrange different parties.
We are similar to learning English. He has been learning English for 5 years but it was good and interesting to chat with him. And it unites us.
Why did I decide to write him? It is easy to answer. He is my best friend from another country. Every day we chat on the “Facebook” and I’m really happy when I talk with him.
I want, really want to visit France and meet with him in the winter holidays but it is only a dream. I hope, his dream will come true.

My name is Sharaeva Viktoria. I’m14 years old and learn in the 9 form. I live in northern, but cosy town, which is called Nizhnevartovsk.
I would like to tell you some words about my hobbies, interests and about me.
I am like kitten, because I’m cheerful, funny, charming and I like to discover new things.
My collection of music is very mixed, so I’m not a fan of one type of music. When I’m in a mood for dancing, I’ listen to club music. When I just want to relax, I might listen to some jazz and calm compositions.
I like to read – but nothing connected with what I’m studying. For example, my favourite book is “Twilight”.
I’m fond of drawing, especially, painting. It helps me to express myself.

We live in Russia, in Kaliningrad. And we are proud of our city.
If you came to Kaliningrad, you can see the beautiful nature, sights and the Baltic Sea.
Our city has many schools, but we think that Gymnasium № 32 is the best.
We study in that Gymnasium. There we study many different subjects like a: Mathematics, Biology, different foreign languages and others.
We prefer Linguistic profile, because our hearts are full of love to English and German languages, which we study in this profile.
We go to the swimming pool three days in a week. And as for us it is the best sport.
Hobbies of Feodora are: drawing and knitting.
And of Karina are: traveling and collections of small glass toys.
We are kind, curious, friendly, sporty, positive, mobile and creative.
Feodora love:
Bubles, chocolate, cats and rainbows. And prefers morning sun.
She thinks that every person schould «Bealive in his Rainbow» and then everything will be OK.
Karina likes:
Dogs, ice-cream and grasshoppers. She is Feodora`s direct opposite and prefers night with the sky full of stars.

My hero – Barack Obama –is a very smart and civilized person. He is a great politician though he has just begun to rule the country. I think that the respect to the rights of people and the understanding the main problems of the state can unite Barack Obama and me. I think so.

Nowadays it`s very important to know the main direction in the politics of the other countries, not to be backward in the temps of the industrial development from them. That`s why we must bring ourselves abreast of the last news of all the states. Last week I saw the news on TV. I saw the 44-th President of the USA - Barack Obama. He told about the rights of people around and I understood that he is right. He leads his policy in the true course. He takes care of the people and helps them all. He does it fast, but our President only gives the promises. I made a decision to write to Barack Obama and ask him about his policy. I want to write him to ask what political events he will organize this year. What will he do to overcome the crises? And what results does he wait at the end of his governing? These questions are very important for me and for all people who like politics and worry about the future of our country.

Dear Nastya!

Thank you for your answer. I think it's a great idea to be an interpreter if you really like this profession. To my mind the main purpose ot the interpreter is ....to connect people by means of translating - good interpreter can bring people peace and happiness but a bad interpreter can make people argue, hate each other and feel angry. So, one can say that an interpreter is a kind of a politician, isn't it?

Hello to everybody!

I would like to introduce myself.
I am Kovalenko Anastasia and my age is only 16. I am a student of the eleventh form of Zarechenskaya classical grammar school, which is situated in Orenburg region.

I guess I am a common girl but sometimes I am interested in peculiar and unusual things. Some of my hobbies may seem unusual. I am fond of fairy tales, other children books and illustrations to them. My favourite book is “Alice in Wonderland”, which is not only for children, but for grown-ups too. That’s why I think I can compare myself with Alice – she is a dreamer and always pursues for her White Rabbit. And so do I. Another hobby of mine is photography. My hobby does not only consist of taking photos, but in memorization beautiful and picturesque sights and places, pretty and handsome people and amazing situations. There are thousands of photos, which I keep in my mind. So camera can describe me and my special features of mind. I have many other interesting hobbies but you will be able to know about them from my letters.

I have decided to take part in this competition because I certainly should improve my English and, in my opinion, such kind of creative work will be useful for me. I am looking forward to curious and interesting interlocutors, tasks and competitors’ wish to help others with learning English.

When I was a child, I liked to write letters. I wrote to my relatives and friends about me, my hobbies and problems. And I thought, if it would be interesting for an English child to know something about me.
Now, I have a chance to do it. I would to write a pen-friend, who is just the same age with me and who lives in any town in England.
