5. MY RESULTS OF THE OLYMPIAD.

1. What are your best results in this Olympiad? How did you manage to achieve them?

It’s too early yet to speak about my results. I prefer to wait for yor impartial evaluation. However, I can’t help mentioning task 1, at which I worked with great pleasure as it made me engrossed in the world of memory about my participation in your Olympiads. I’m lucky that practically all my school years were dealt with constant creativity. It has had an effect on my soul.

I’m of the opinion that good results can be achieved quite easily: you should only wish something very much!

2. Which of the tasks caused your most positive emotions? Why?

You see, if to speak about the tasks in the view of the mood, all of them were similar to each other. I mean they were rather exciting perhaps with the exception of task 3. To be frank, I was a little bored while translating the well-known song about Space. On the contrary, the other tasks provoked desire for joking and doing everything with a portion of light humour.

3. What were the difficulties you came upon while doing the tasks? How did you overcome them?

While working at the Olympiad tasks I had to sit up late. The most difficult thing for me was not to fall asleep right in front of the monitor! However, I was inspired by foretaste of my future results – passion (азарт), in one word, prevented me from going to sleep. And my rhyme is just about it:

Трудно было ночью очень
Не сомкнуть усталы очи.
Я старалась, как могла –
Только в полночь я легла.
Сразу провалилась в сон.
Снится мне: «Я – чемпион!»
4. What kind of motto for the creative translator you can offer to our Olympiad?

There have been so many poems today that it was hard to stop! I offer the following motto:

«Дерзай, не ленись,
К вершинам стремись!».

“Dare but not idle
To victory strive for!”

Isn’t it good? I think it is!
And how about the slogan about kinds of temperament:

“EIDOS AROUSES A STORM OF EMOTIONS EVEN FROM THE PHLEGMATIC PERSON!” «Эйдос» способен разбудить бурю эмоций даже у флегматика!»

5. Ask your questions to the participants of the Olympiad or to the Olympic organizing committee. Don’t forget to answer the questions for you.

My questions and pieces of advice to all the participants and those who are only going to have a strength test:

5.1 ● What or who has brought you to the Centre “Eidos”?

My own reply is:

I did it myself as I wanted to resemble my elder brother. Both my mother and my teacher of the English language Yelena Ivanovna Veselova suggested the idea of my participation. By the way, Yelena Ivanovna also taught my brother Kirill, who had a very rich portfolio, which together with his good results at the entrance exams helped him enter the prestigious University.

5.2 ● By the way, I’ve been with “Eidos” for about 9 years! Next year I’ll celebrate the jubilee! Is it too much for you? (А вам «слабо»?)

My own reply is:

Certainly, not as the number of participation years is rather impressive!

5.3 ● Do you think Mathematics and distant euristic Olympiads in English have any resemblance? Can such an equality be: 4+ (2х2 + 4х3) +8 = 18?

My own reply is:

Sometimes it can. The results of participation can be written not only in prime numbers but in equality as well.

I’ll decode 4+ (2х2 + 4х3) +8 = 18: These are my results of collaboration with “Eidos” during 8 years and a half:

Total: 18 times
Laureate: 4 times
Prize-winner: 6 times(2 second places and four third places)
Grand Prix: 8 times I got first places

5.3 ● My question to the Olympic organizing committee:”Can organisers and participants be similar to each other? In which way?”

My own reply is:

More likely can than can’t. Each time when we, participants, read your tasks we can’t help asking ourselves the same question:”Where do they find such non-standard tasks?”

I suppose, you, our organisers, reading our works, also ask yourselves the question:”Where do they find so much creativity?”

So we’re resembling in CREATIVITY!

5.4 ● And finally, my advice is to those, who don’t know what “Eidos” is:

2) To begin with, that fact that I dared to take part in this Olympiad, Already is excellent result for me. I don’t know how I managed to achieve them, maybe It is just good luck.
2) Most of all I liked the task about the Humpty- Dumpty. This task was very funny and interesting.
3) To my sorrow I had some difficulties with grammar, but my great teacher helped me with them. So, taking the opportunity I want thank her for support during the Olympiad.

1. My name is Yulia, but my friends and teachers are called me Julie. I live in Nizhnevartovsk. It is incredible city. I love it, because I grow up, found my friends and completely musical school here! It is very beautiful place. Of course, it had sometimes bad weather, but it is not serious, we was born here, so, we are not afraid of cold.

2-3. Two years ago I realized that I need training of English because in future I am planning to be a doctor and I am sure, I will leave in England, study in England and work there as well. It is my fondest wish! So, I decided that I must improve my speaking English and I subscribed to English school «SET». There are we speaking with foreign teachers and we try to speak just in England. It is good practice, I think. I also participate in English Olympiad, because my teacher said: «If you want to study and work in abroad, you will try and participate in English Olympiad. You real start trusting in your knowledge, getting this experience. It is very important for you». I agree with my teacher and I suppose so too. So, I participate in next Olympiad: « URFO, 1 и 2 тур», «Познание и творчество, англ.яз., зимний тур», «British Bulldog», «Эйдос, СуперКубок», etc. To be honest, I have not great results in Olympiad, but I try to improve this situation every day. And in my opinion, participation is more important, than a victory.

4. Very important part of my life is my mother. Her words, moral support, advices always help me, when I doubt myself. She does all everything possible because she wants that my aims became realized. Every day I tell her «Thank you». My English teacher – Vera Aleksandrovna - helps me in my life too. I often take additional task from her. She says: « You must practice in English more», so, I agree with her, and I do it!

1. Well, I am not sure, that I have a good result this Olympiad, but it is not important for me. I am creative person; so, I like to participate in Olympiads, competitions, making ne think and evoking positive emotions.
2. Oh, of course 2 task! It is really interesting. May be I wrote inexact translation, but on the other hand, I tried to show all types of temperaments of the author.
3. I like to translate a text from English into Russian, but to translate from Russian into English difficult for me. So, 4 task was not easy for me.
4. As I said, I respect my mother, because she always gives me helpful advices. When I was a child, I studied in musical school. I wrote to exam on musical literature, but day ago I could not repeated my summary at home. As a result, I wrote this exam very bad. When my mum came home, I weeping. She embraced we and said : ”Everything that Lord gave us is «NOTHING», if we would not develop this «NOTHING» during all our life”. Oddy enough it is helps me. And when I have a difficulties during my life, I said this word and forgot about my failures.
So, I really recommend you my motto. U am sure, it is help you!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Sabina Agaeva. I ‘m in 10th form, school №18. I live in Nizhnevartovsk city, Khanty-Mansiyski National District in Siberia.
I have only As in English at school. I’ve been learning it since my childhood. I participate in all school, city and regional Olympiads and I always succeed in them. I’ve made a lot of several projects and written some research works. I don’t like different research, but if you need it, you do it!:D
I’m taking part in the Olympiad because I want test my abilities in English and I do all my best to win it. I think that if you didn’t praise yourself, anybody won’t praise you. I have enough experience to take part in this Olympiad.
I think good knowledge in English helps me very much. I hope that my fantasy don’t strike me. I won’t to gain my aim/. )
